2007 Season |

Year Six We are now in our sixth year providing local and traveling plein air painting workshops. We offer fun and supportive outdoor painting ventures for all levels of experience. Local classes in the past have included outings to Manayunk, Chestnut Hill, Valley Forge, and Bucks County. In 2001 we traveled to Spain, visiting the great museums of Madrid and painting within the Unesco World Heritage Cities of Toledo and Segovia. |

2007 Season Our 2007 season holds several exciting workshops. Our classes normally revolve around painting weekends, intensive workshops of three to five days duration. We will still continue with these painting holidays, running two short weekends in August and one major workshop at the end of October. We are also implementing a series of Saturdays in the spring and Sundays in the fall devoted to the study of trees. So come on along for a season of fun and learning, painting together in the outdoors, where we can really get some space and light into our canvasses! |

The Artistic Anatomy of Trees |
|
Session One: May 19th- June 20 Saturdays 9am to 12 pm. Valley Forge. |
|
Session Two: September 30th- October 28th Sundays 1 pm.- 4 pm. Art Museum. |
|
Do your trees ever look like blobs? Yes, trees are merely colored shapes, just like everything. Yet a conscious understanding of how they grow gives the artist a clear understanding of what to look for in giving their form a sense of structure and life. I want your trees to grow in space! |

Friday August 3rd- Sunday August 5th This intensive workshop allows us to work in a very painterly bucolic setting close to home. Trails, woods fields and structures all add to the beauty of the locale, while offering a variety of subjects to choose from. |

Fairmount Vistas |

Saturday September 8th Sunday September 9th. |
|
From the knob behind the art museum, a beautiful selection of subjects awaits, from the waterworks, to boathouse row, to a vista of the river. In September, the light is beginning to grow low, allowing for beautiful long shadows to enhance the depth in our paintings. |

Autumn Painting at
Valley Green |
|
Friday November 2- Monday November 5 The peak season of autumn foliage is upon us, in the celestial waning light of early November. What the light misses in quantity, it more than makes up for in quality! In this workshop, we focus on the Wissahickon Valley and its environs, within the fullness of the fall colors. |
